Estimates and follow-up
Create and send an estimate, let your customer accept and pay it, and get automatic follow-up on days 2, 5 and 10.
Updated
An estimate is the price you give the customer before doing the work. You send it, the customer reviews it and, if they agree, accepts it with one click and can pay right away.
Create and send an estimate
- Click Payments › Invoices & Estimates.
- Choose the estimates option and click the button to create a new one.
- Pick the customer.
- Add what you include: products or services with their price. See Products, prices, taxes and coupons.
- Write a clear note with what it covers, what it doesn't, and until when the price is valid.
- Click Send and choose email or SMS.
When the customer replies
- If they accept, the estimate becomes accepted and you can turn it into an invoice. See Create and send an invoice.
- If they decline or leave it for later, it's recorded on their profile.
The customer's card in your sales pipeline moves to "Proposal sent" and then to "Won" or "Lost". See Sales in progress.
Automatic follow-up
If they don't reply, your account writes to them kindly 2, 5 and 10 days after you sent the estimate. As soon as they answer, the follow-up stops.
Estimate follow-up depends on your plan. If you don't see it turned on, write to us and we'll check it together.
Tips to get it accepted
- Send it the same day as the visit or conversation, while everything is fresh.
- Use clear prices and a short message.
- If they don't reply, one phone call is worth three messages.
If something goes wrong
- It won't let you send it: check the customer has a mobile number or email.
- The customer says they didn't receive it: resend it through another channel, or in the conversation.
