Create and send an invoice
Create an invoice with your products, send it by email, SMS or WhatsApp, see whether it has been paid and schedule invoices that repeat every month.
Updated
An invoice tells the customer how much they owe and gives them a button to pay by card. When they pay, the money arrives in your Stripe. You need Stripe connected first: see Connect your own Stripe to get paid.
Create and send an invoice
- Click Payments › Invoices & Estimates.
- Click Create Invoice.
- Pick the customer (or create them right there).
- Click Add Item and pick a product, or type a new one with its price. See Products, prices, taxes and coupons.
- Set the due date.
- Check the total. If it applies, add a tax or a coupon.
- Click Send and choose how: email, SMS or WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is only on the plans that include it, and outside the 24-hour window approved templates are used.
See whether it's been paid
In the invoice list you see each one's status: draft, sent, paid or overdue. When the customer pays, the invoice turns to paid by itself and reminders stop.
Invoices that repeat
For something you charge every month:
- Create the invoice as usual.
- Turn on the repeat option and choose the frequency and when it ends.
- Save. Each time, it will be created and sent by itself.
Payment reminders
If an invoice isn't paid, the customer gets friendly reminders. See Pending payments and payment reminders.
If something goes wrong
- You can't send the invoice: check that your Stripe is connected and the customer has a mobile number or email.
- The customer doesn't see the pay button: make sure the invoice isn't still a draft.
- You got the amount wrong: if it hasn't been paid, void it and create another.
