Forms: where submissions go
Where your website form submissions go: how to see them, how the contact is created automatically and how to get an email alert for each submission.
Updated
Your template comes with ready-made forms (contact, appointment request, notify me when available…). Every time someone fills one in, three things happen without you doing anything.
What happens when someone submits a form
- A new contact profile is created, or updated if that person already existed.
- Their answers are saved in the form and on their profile.
- If you have the alert turned on, you get a notification.
That way you never lose a customer who wrote to you outside business hours.
See the submissions
- Click Website › Forms.
- Open the Submissions tab.
- You'll see a list with each response. Click one to read it in full.
- To work with the person, open them from Contacts. See Contacts: each customer's profile.
Get an email alert
- In Website › Forms, open the form you're interested in.
- Go to Settings › Notifications.
- Turn on the email alert and type the address it should go to.
- Save.
Use an email address you check every day. An alert you don't read is the same as not having one.
Test a form
- Open your website in a private window.
- Fill the form with test details.
- Check that the submission appears and the alert arrived.
- Delete the test profile from Contacts.
If something goes wrong
- The alert doesn't arrive: check your spam folder and that the address is spelled correctly.
- A response appears without a name: the customer didn't fill it in; contact them with the detail they did leave.
- You want another form: write to us and we'll see how to add it.
