Teach NEO about your business

NEO learns from "My first day", your business details and its knowledge base. What to write so it answers well and what to leave out.

Updated

NEO only knows what you tell it: it doesn't make things up. The clearer your details, the better its answers.

Where NEO learns from

  1. The "My first day" form (the "Tell NEO about your business" step): hours, services with their "starting at" price, payment methods and policies. See "My first day": NEO guides you to get your account ready.
  2. Your business details: name, address and time zone. See Check your business details.
  3. Its knowledge base: typical questions and answers for your industry, which come with your template, plus an info page on your website.
  4. What you teach it later: one answer at a time. See Teach NEO one answer.

What to tell it

  • Services and prices with the words "starting at": that way NEO never promises a final price.
  • Hours and closing days, including holidays that change your schedule.
  • Address and directions.
  • Policies: cancellations, deposits, returns and payment methods.
  • Answers to what people ask you most.

What NOT to tell it

  • Private details about your customers.
  • Passwords, card numbers or keys.
  • Promises you can't keep.

If a detail changes (a price, your hours), update it as soon as you can: NEO repeats whatever it has written.

When NEO doesn't know

NEO doesn't guess. It says it will check with the team and lets you know. That tells you what to teach it next time. Then test it as if you were a customer.
